i snet hifonics an em ail asking about how they rate the bxi2006d, and i asked themi fit is rated at 14.4 volts and they said that all of their amps are rateda t 14.4 volts.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif i forgot the guys name and he said that a 1606D at 1 ohm without rise with 14.4 volts will do about 1800 rms. my question is if they are all rated at 14.4 volts they why do the XX hercules say 2000@ 1 ohm?

this is what he said

"Hello,

All of our amplifiers are rated at 14.4 volts and a true 1ohm load. This is not the DCR that is presented to the amplifier; it is the reactive load that the amplifier sees during play. It is also achieved with a tone burst/sine wave. I have personally tested a BXi1606D in a vehicle with a single Kinetik 2400 battery and vehicle off, DCR of .5ohm and reactive of 1.3ohm. It produced 1865watts on a tone burst of 54hz.

The maximum draw on the BXi2006D would be found by taking 2200watts(maximum tested output) / 14.4volts= 153amps of current draw. Realistically, your car may have 13.8 volts and you may see 2000watts max. So, 2000watts / 13.8volts=145amps of current draw max.

Thanks,
