Hifonics Goliath!

Well right under the amp description, sonic says they have a 1 year warrantey with it.

If worst comes to worst, you could send it to kbaudio.com for repair.

What electrical are you going to have for it btw?

As far as electrical goes, I have an Odyssey 1700 under the hood and two runs of 1/0 guage wire to the back going into a ten farad cap (soon to be changed out), and then from there I run into the amp with 2 guage wiring. No alternator yet, but I am going to be getting one from Powermaster so that won't be an issue.

I would assume since you recommended kbaudio.com they would be a good place to send the amp for repair? Also, do you think I would have any problems burping a Goliath at .35 ohms?

I have never ran a goliath, so I dont know.
Try rolling it first.

Also, 2 things.

1. Ditch the cap

2. Get a bigger alt and another battery in the back, if you can.

Yeah, I already stated that I am going to be getting rid of the cap (didn't realize how useless it was). I was under the impression that in the street classification of dB Drag that I was limited to only one battery, but I just finished reading the rules and it said I could have another so I will definitely take your advice on that one. The alternator is definitely in the works, I just have to get up with my contact. I will definitely try rolling it, but would it be so terribly bad to see if it could just burp that low??

O I didnt know you are doing street....
1 battery for street b and a

And you cant run your car during your run, so if its for db drag only...

Also get more runs of power and ground wire.
2 runs of 1/0 for power and 2 runs of 1/0 for ground are not enough?? A guy I know in Street Max 1-2 is running (2) Soundstream 6500D's and he only has 4 runs of power and 4 runs of ground. Is it Street C that I can have another battery or did I just simply read the rules wrong?? I am very aware of the fact that the vehicle cannot be running which basically defeats the purpose of having a higher output alternator, but nevertheless.

They will burp if you know what your doing:D
Why do you say this? I am trying to understand why you said "if you know what your doing"?? I have already stated that I would be burping at .35 ohms (of course this doesn't account for impedance rise), so it will either do it or it won't?? It looks like you are currently running one of these amps. How do you like it so far?

for most ppl 2 runs would indeed be enough, BUT, i'd follow btnhfan's advice and at least add two more of each....u want as little resistance as possible. i know street a guys with 8 runs of each..

I wouldn't say either it will or it won't. It'll do whatever it feels like doing... most of the time it'll burp if you know what your doing. By that I mean have experience enough to know how to have it wired correctly, and have done testing to know what it likes and what it doesn't like.

Yes, I love the amp. I had two Orion 2500D's before...and I can notice a pretty big difference of sound to my ear. My score has went up also. These things get extremly hot for daily though, I would definatley buy a fan or two.
