Hifonics BXi1606 vs. Sundown SAE-1000

I can get both for the same price brand new.

Hifonics is 1600x1 at 1 ohm but more like 1300 watts actual power at 14Volts.

SAE-1000 is 1000x1 at 1 ohm but more like 1100 watts at 14Volts.

I need something to power two RL-p 12's in a ported box. Which would you prefer and why.

I know the high end lines of Sundown is highly regarded, but what about the lower SAE line?

get the sundown, its a better brand, i bet it also more efficient that the hifonics. they also have a better resale value. BTW the sae at 14 volts will most likely put out atround 1300 also

These amps aren't crazy like the SAZ-1500D. Expect 1,000 watts RMS and no more, and don't expect to run 1/2 ohm on these either. But, I consider them a good value and their small footprint will be great for alot of folks.

I ran my RL-P's off a 1500D, so I'd say spend the extra $$$ and get that amp.

It's nice to see a rep be realistic about their products instead of blowing sunshine up your a$$ only to have 1/2 their stuff get killed because idiots thought they were bullet proof.

I'd love to get the 1500 but can't afford it. I went with the SAE-1000 for a decent price. Just a tad above the pre-order price. Got it from an authorized dealer as well. Hopefully 500-525 Watts will be enough for each RL-p 12.
