hifonics bxi1208 blew up :/

i was bumpin home and was goin pretty much full tilt not all the way but close.

all of a sudden it cut out and i start smelling burnt plastic, i mute the headunit and pull over i had screw drivers in my truck so the 1st thing i did was took the sub out of the box and checked the coils, coils were perfect. i go over 2 the amp. none of my fuses are blown and the speaker out smells burnt.

how can the speaker out be burnt when the fuse didnt even pop? wtffff cheap *** hifonics shit.

gains were set with multimeter

stinger 0g with inline fuse then a stinger distro fused and the amp is fused. none of them popped.

mine (1206D 2006 model) blew from vibrations. I had it mounted to the box and didnt realize how much the box was moving in that area... popped my fuse under the hood, changed it out, popped the amp. the fuse on the amp (80amp) never blew. the amp started smoking.

11/3/2008 is when i ordered it and it took 4days to get here so ive had it since the 7th...

Are Hifonics cheap amp? Just wondering if there reliable amps?

Those Brutus amps are great little amps. Nothing wrong with them except the mosfets being mounted at 90 degrees to the PCB. Causes the legs to break off from vibration, can cause the amp to go up in smoke when it happens...
