Hifonics BXi 2607D do rated power?

Well, i called Maxsonics and gave em hell because i still havent sent back my hercules that brok'd, for a second time. So, now they are just sending me a BNIB bxi2607D. I've never used the Brutus amps, but i hear they are somewhat overrated and wanted to see if this is true for their new Brutus line up. Its rated for 2600RMS @ 1 ohm. As long as i get 2000+RMS (what the herc was) or more, i'll be happy.

Well from what I've read (mostly on here) they've been getting better as the years progressed. 05s were quite a bit overrated, 06s were overrated, but not nearly as bad. Haven't heard anything about 07s yet. I'd put my money says it def does 2000 though.

from what they have said, they're supposed to be much better than the older bxi.

however, id still take the herc myself just for the ability to drop down to lower loads.

well the herc is underated

but the 2607 is suppose to do pretty close to its rated rms

i must have recieved a super defective one then, because i hated mine lol. First, it came with a messed up RCA input, so i had to send it back under warranty before i even used it. I got it back about 2 months later, and it worked for about 2 weeks then it fried again (not my fault i dont think, because my wiring worked with a variety of other amps and settings were correct), and now its been 4 months and i havent seen it. So, in about 7 months of having it, i got a good strong two weeks of usage out of it heh.

My friend is pushing a pair of Dub7's with his 2607D, and I must say it does the job quite well.

I would assume it puts out a bit more than 2000watts.

My herc has never shut off once or had a single problem yet(hope i dont jinx myself.) the amp doesn't even get warm to the touch and i have it running my BTL at 1 ohm

I took a chance a grabbed a bxi2006d for my XXX 12.

I am not disappointed at all. This amp sounds great, and at half gain drives the XXX easily to as hard as I would ever push it.

I think this "overrated" crap is all garbage... just a bunch of CA.com posters jumping on a bandwagon cause someone claimed it. Funny how fickle the crowd is. Like F'in sheep. Noone has ever shown proof that the 2006's don't do rated power.

Want proof? I had 1000 watts on my XXX before, with a PG amp, and now 1300 watts on it with the brutus and it hits harder than ever, and sounds very clean.

Nice sub but did you get a dual 4 ohm sub?

because ya shoulda got a dual 2 and ran it at 1 ohm that sub can def take more power
