Alright ive got two dual 4 ohm 15 inch L5s. Right now these are being powered by a hifonics bx1605d (rated at 1600 rms)

Obvisouly I will be hooking the subs up at 1 ohm.

Both the 1605d and Kicker SX1250 are 1 ohm stable. The ZX1500 is 2 ohm stable but I have seen alot of people on here say it will do 1 ohm everyday.

I want to get a new amp but I cannot decide between the 1250 and 1500.

I like the digital display and controls that the SX1250 has but i'm afraid it wont be much if any louder than my hifonics amp. I know hifonics is overrated but i'm afraid that they are overrated enough to make the 1250 and the 1605d about the same amount of watts. I would be very disappointed if i got the amp and i couldn't really notice a difference.

Then the zx1500 doesn't have the digital display and isn't "1 ohm stable". But its 1500 watts.

oh and there is only a $10 difference between the two so price doesn't matter.

What should I do and why?

i have a zx1500.1 and was also told it can be run at 1 ohm, however i keep hearing stories about the amp going into protect at 1 ohm, so i decided to run it at 2 ohms like its rated. With that in mind as good as the zx1500.1 is i wouldn't choose that amp for your application. I would get the sx1250.1, however you probably won't hear an audible difference between that amp and your current hifonics amp. If you want an amp that would give you an audible difference i would look into a us amps md2 or a 20.1.hth

hifonics are overated. Your brutus isnt putting out near 1600 watts. Get the zx 1500.1. That will put out about 1600+ true watts and make your 15's bang. The sx would just be a pain to tune it all the way you want it. The zx is your best bet in my opinion

yeah I know hifonics are overrated i said that in my first post. Why would the sx be a pain to tune? Only really disadvantage that the zx1500 that I see for me is it not being 1 ohm stable.

easy, look for a KX1200, will do 13801-550 into a 1 ohm load, not paying for the DSP like the SX, and still running the right impedence with the KX, unlike you would with the ZX.

why would it be a pain?
