The BRZ is the least overrated and least power hungry of the brutus line.is there that a big a difference? it looks like they both put out 1200 at 2ohms
I had the Brz1700 for a couple months. I got it off Craigslist. It was a very solid amp. Here's a link from Sonic:Im on a very strict budget (by the wife lol) the "bre" series is about 2x the price on amazon compared to the brx and brz. Im more looking for advice on just how good they are. I can get the Brx1600 for $178 (w/free shipping) or the BRZ for $197 (w/ shipping costs).
The best setup ive had so far was 3 jl 12w3v2 powered by the original jl 500/1. I loved it, but I wanted to go full power this time around. Im assuming there will be some drop in sq from the jl to the hifonics (mainly because of the major price difference) but then again, from all the reviews ive read, it sounds pretty decent. Also, this is only a start, I plan on building up slowly from this setup.Lets try this.............. what have you ran if anything in the past? Hifonics has been around for ages but as of late they are known for being one of the best budget brands out there. If you have never really had a big setup before either one of these amps would be just fine for you. I would go for the cheapest one. For what its worth I had a brz1200 and although it sounded good it didn't have that ooooomph that other 1200-1500 watt amps had. I have been through a lot of amps and in that power range the brz was middle ground but only because it sounded pretty good. If not for that its at the bottom
