Hifonics Brutus BXI 1210D wire to 1ohm?

Okay I'm kind of new to all of this, I have a Hifonics Brutus BXI 1210D 1200w amp and an Audioque SDC2.5 15" sub (1200w peak.) I'm looking to wire to 1 ohm but can't find a whole lot about how to do that. The closest thing I can find to explain how to do this is to bridge it, will that do it?

You can't bridge a mono amp. The only loads you can get with a dual 4 ohm sub is either 2 ohms in parallel or 8 ohms in series.

So you're saying my sub won't allow it? Because according to Hifonics website the amp can.

Your amp is 1 ohm stables yes.. but since you bought a Dual 4 Ohm Sub your only options are wiring to 2 ohms and 8 ohms... following me?

When you "bridge" an amp it means you took two channels and merge it into one to make more power to a single speaker. A "mono" amp is 1 channel so you can't bridge it - it is already in 1 channel mode.

The subwoofer you chose is 500-600 watts RMS and DVC 4-Ohms so yes, you can use the amp and wire the sub parallel at 2-Ohms and it will work just fine.

Of course, because you are at 2-Ohms, you will not be using all 1200 watts which is too much for it any way.

In the future, if you choose to add another subwoofer, this amp will handle the 1-Ohm load you would be applying to it with no problem.
