Hifonics Brutus 2006D

So Im looking at amps to power 2 1000W subs. I came across alot of Hifonics stuff, the 2006D to be exact. Im just wondering if Hifonics is good to trust and will truly give me me 2000 watts. I found it for 399.99 at acaraudio. Then I was wondering why it is so cheap compared to the Atomic 2200.1 amp Ive been saving up for (698.95). So some input on the amp would be nice.

the hifonics is overrated and will only put out about 1700.

may be true...but this amp worked really well for me...never failed and had no problems watsoever....if ur on a budget, id recommend it highly

yep, great amps, a little overrated. maybe look into 2 1206D's

All of them are rated at 2000 Watts @ 1 ohm. I'm looking at one of these for a posible purchase of a pair of dual 1 ohm Fi Qs.

The BXIs are over rated and the hercules is under rated

the bx2005d is an 05 model whereas the 2006 is 06's. hifonics had a history of making overrated amps in the past and i guess they continue to do so. however, their wasnt any proof the bxi lineup were overrated. (unless someone can show me a link or something...havent kept up with amps for awhile)

hercules is the higher end model and do rated power or even more.

i run bxi2006d and love it. pushes plenty power and much cheaper than a hercules.

"The BXi series has a new front-end design which lowers the THD & N.

The Brutus is our most popular selling D-Class amp because it is everything necessary to produce its rated power and is inexpensive. It is not designed for low impedance operation.

The XX Hercules is a competition class amp capable of low impedance burprs, is strappable, and has larger output devices, more output devices, a better regulated power supply, larger transformers and a heavier heat sink per mm.

The Brutus is tested at 14.4 volts and the XXHercules is tested at 13.2 volts. "

i was told that 06 models and newer do rated power.
