You should move about 100 miles north. Really.

I'd go with the 1608. I just got my 1606 which is running 2 Type R 12's fine.

I used to be a Hifonics hater too until I saw that one of my friends has been running a 1606 for several years now. It even survived a car crash resulting in the total loss of his vehicle

OTOH, I had a Memphis Car Audio amp that was replaced twice within 6 months, under warranty, and I left it in my vehicle when it was declared a total loss! I made out like a bandit too because I was reimbursed for the "destroyed" amp and sub, TWICE:veryhapp:

Well there rated at 500rms each right. I wouldnt give them more than like 750rms really. But the hifonics dont do rated power if im not mistaken. So id get the 1608. I had 1 12 type r off 100 watts in a 7 cubed box ported and it slammed for the circumstances. Cant imagine having 2 off more than their rated power.
