Hey all, new to the forum need some help. Just installed my second hifonics mx3 bass controler.
the problem I am having is with the clipping indicator. the first mx3 I installed based on the instructional video that Mike at maxxsonics put out. had to set the input level to around 7.5 volts when I read 1.3 with a multimeter regardless of other settings on the mx3 or the clipping indicator would go off. after 2 weeks it started to burst power then not work at all.
my replacement I now have it set where I think it should be, adjusted by ear and am ignoring the stupid little light and it sounds great, but I am worried about long term affects.
The only thing I think it could be is that I am listening to mp3's and there is some problem with the way my head unit uncompresses the file. And the incorrect settings based on the stupid little light is what cuased the first one to go out.
