HID Pictures & Questions

My mom's Lexus has the stock HID's that are SO nice. I was wondering if it was even possible to transform my lights to function exactly the same?

(When I have money again) I would send my headlights to someone to modify/rebuild or whatever just to have true HID headlights. It makes such a difference.

well i did a little reading and it comes with a removable bulb so the HID will work, im in business
You will get glare and hotspots.

The basic way to retrofit any headlamp is:

1) Find projectors that fit your headlamp. buy the projectors, shrouds, ballasts, wiring, and bulbs.

2) Put the projectors into the headlamp and secure them (most use screws)

3) Attach the shrouds once the projectors are in and secure.

4) Mount ballast and run the wires. Insert bulb.

5) The hardest part is resealing the headlamp itself. If you mess up, bam condensation = bye bye bulb.

Very broad description but you get the idea. I learned just by first reading on HIDPlanet and then most of my "knowledge (very little lol)" has come from just watching others post their retrofits and learning from their mistakes. I have yet to actually perform a retrofit (my dad won't let me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif ..yet) so I am still learning. I have been talking to Bjorn for awhile and hopefully will get them done through CustomLightz or do it myself if I buy spare headlamps.

Megalomaniac -- If you go to CustomLightz.com and go to Multimedia > pictures > year/make/model > honda > Accord > 6th Gen you can see examples of some retrofits for your car to get ideas. You should contact Bjorn at CustomLightz if you have alot of questions. He is a good guy and can help you out.

but my bulb is not removable like our hondas its the whole light bulb assembly as one that why i showed u the link to the headlight that seemed to have a removable bulb for my vehicle
Looks like some cuztom work will do it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

3) 3000K technically has the most lumens but everyone seems to go for 6000K+ which is just losing lumens aka output. Go 4300/5000K or go home.

I hope some of this helps. Please correct me if I am wrong, for I am not an expert. [/b]//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The 4000k range actually gives you the most lumens.
