I am considering converting my 2001 Jimmy 4 door to HID and am wondering what all of you think. Is it really worth it? If so what are some good kits that would be plug an play? What color temp should I get then? Any help is appreciated.

ya i thought it was worth it. you can get kits for like 60 off ebay, and i would not go with anything more then 6K for the color. i got 6K and i like the color it gives off, its not to much blue. and i think it looks good.

truthfully projectors are the only way hids are worth the money to me. Find a retro with projectors or make umm.

x2, im working on a set of headlights for a jimmy/sonoma now.... what a pain:furious: it would not be bad if they had a clear lens

Where could I find a complete retrofit with projectors or what all would I need? I haven't done anything with cars really at all, just the basics and my system, so I am not up on everything, lol.

but well worth it instead of having blindingly bright lights
Well it is better to retrofit by a mile......but 10 miles harder too do.

But if you aim the kits right, there shouldnt be much of a problem.

Ive had 35w 6000k in mine for a month and got ZERO high beam flashes.

Now ive got 55w 6000k for about 2 weeks, and still no "Hey ASSS, turn your brights off" flash.

If the price too do a retrofit was only about 100-200 more too buy for direct plug n play Id of course done that, but it is not.

i planned on getting some cheap projectors off ebay and modifing the projector part to accept a hid head light bulb.

the projector has a lip on the upper half to prevent light from shining upwards and into other peoples eyes

Might be worth it.

Anything worth getting is always worth it more at a steep discount. Not familiar with that unit, but the brand is great.
