Hi from Australia!

Hi! I have fairly recently started to become obsessed with car audio. Until I got myself a decent car, I never really bothered about it, apart from getting subs installed. I have been learning alot over the last few months since I got my stereo gear installed, and hope to learn alot more from everyone here.

I currently have:

Alpine ILX-007E head unit

Alpine SPS-610CG front speakers

cheap clarion rear speakers

an underseat sub (I can't remember the name of it sorry)

Car is not sound proofed or deadened or whatever you want to call it yet, however I am hoping to be able to afford a complete sound proofing in the coming months (doors, roof, floor as well as stopping the door trim rattles). After this is completed I will be saving up to replace most of the stuff I have. After hearing the Alpine stuff I'm in love, so will be making the whole system Alpine.

Look forward to possibly stupid questions, and lot's of 'em being asked.

Welcome to Hell.

How expensive is deadener in Australia? From the little I've seen you guys have slim choices in brands there and horribly high prices for everything else. Can you even get reasonably priced wood for box building?

Like hispls said Welcome to hell.

What kind of car are you putting a system in?

If shipping wasn't so expensive I would ship you enough deadener to do your whole car if you would ship me an HSV R8 Maloo. lol Would look good in my garage parked next to my Commodore VE (Pontiac G8)

Thanks for the welcome! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Deadener is crazy expensive here, but just about everything is crazy expensive in Australia. EVERYTHING! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif I have no idea about prices of wood except that wood planks for a deck are beyond my price range, and my deck stays broken. car is a 2015 Subaru XV (Crosstrek for you guys in the states). it's a noisy car. and I'm getting an exhaust put on it so it will be louder. That reason alone is enough to make me feel I need deadener and I think it will be a very worthwhile investment. Plus I'll be doing it mostly myself with some help so I will learn even more (currently I'm too scared to pull apart the trim pieces). Thank you for the shipping offer, however an HSV Maloo would be around AU$80,000. I think that would be a little too much deadener. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Is there a sub forum where I can learn about equalizers and their effects and stuff? I have the Alpine tuneit app and I'm really not sure at all about what I'm doing with it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif
