I usually don’t introduce myself on other automotive forums, but you all seem like a welcoming bunch.

I’m Jason up in the cold region of Minnesota of the US of A (I’m assuming this is a worldwide deal).

Love working on my 2021 Wrangler and just started tearing it apart to add a JL Audio Stealthbox, an amp, a cap, and an LC2i LOC.

“Pictures or it didn’t happen,” right? 🤣

It only has about 6,000 miles, but it’s all scratched up from off-roading. By far the most fun I’ve ever had!

Excited to learn from you all!

Good eye! It’s an XD300/1v2 and a 10TW1. I don’t have it all connected yet. I sure do wish the Wrangler Stealthbox came with the 12” sub though. I have a factory 10” Alpine sub on the passenger side however, so it already has some decent bump.

Welcome aboard. Pretty ballsy to go rooting in a Jeep that new, but good on you. JL is rather overpriced for what you get all around, but those built to fit specific vehicle things they make are generally a great option if you want that level of fit and finish. Not like a custom shop could do something that looks as clean for less.

There's a handful of people who post here from Europe but none of the regulars. I've seen people post from South Africa in the past and there have been a handful of Australians. Really, the only country where car audio is a big thing apart from the USA is Brazil and I reckon those guys have their own communities in Portuguese where they hang out online.

The issue being that a woofer needs to be acoustically coupled with the correct airspace to function properly. Those "stealth" and "shallow" type woofers are already pushing the envelope to the absolute limit of what you can get away with. "Space makes bass". A smaller woofer in the correct airspace will outperform a larger one shoehorned into too-small space by every measure.

You definitely don't want a big box with a heavy woofer in a vehicle you're trying to use offroad so I'd say something like that JL is probably your absolute best option for your purposes. Even with that, you may want to take measures to be sure that it absolutely won't turn into a deadly projectile in the event of a rollover. Not sure how they're normally secured but you may want to use some extra reinforcing there. There was a guy up my way that was killed in a rollover on the way home from a show, didn't get the full details but I suspect his heavy box and sub flying around in his Range Rover when the crash happened didn't help matters.

I agree that the JL is overpriced (and so does everyone over at the JL forum 😆). It’s like going to Disneyworld each time I hop in and we can’t help ourselves. 🤣

Wait…I forget I’m in a car audio forum now and you’re referring to the JL Audio Stealthbox (my Wrangler is known as a JL as well). Yeah…the same applies to the Stealthbox. I shat myself when I realized I was going to purchase it. 🤦🏼 That and the Wrangler. 🤦🏼

Sad story and often consider this while offroading (especially with an axe hanging from the rear roll bar which I have double reinforced with ratchet straps, but now am thinking to use steel cable instead).

The Stealthbox is connected via three bolts through the wheel well…

Of course both Jeeps (at least the known well built ones) and JL (the audio) hold their value fairly well and should both give you many long years of service if not outright abused.

Stealth box mounting looks adequate to keep it in place in the event of a disaster.
