Hello everyone. I just found this board now and registered. As far as my system goes, right now I have 2 12" dual voice-coil JL W3's in the H.O. Box with a Rockford Fosgate 800.2 amp running it. The speakers/box came pre-wired with one pair of speaker connectors for both speakers. So I just bridged the amp and hooked it up. The amp puts out a good 800wts. RMS to the box. It has the expensive model JVC Kamelion CD player for the head unit right now. Oh, I think the inside rear speakers are boston acoustic at the moment as I have others around. The front 4 are factory components that I swapped out. Don't remember what is in there currently.
This is in a '97 Ford Taurus 4 door Sedan. The ENTIRE trunk (literally every inch of the inside, fenders, floor, spare wheel well, top deck etc.) is lined with sound-proofing. It looks like Dynamat Extreme(chrome stuff), but it came from a guy I know at the Ford Plant. This stuff is better than the Dynamat Extreme though in my opinion anyway. It has the 60/40 folding split-seats, so I mounted the amp on the bigger half. Man, folding down that half of the seat makes all the difference in the world. The bass almost doubles and the amp stays nice and cool.
But, I am selling the Taurus so the subs are going up for sale and the amp is moving into the 1991 Acura Integra I'll be driving. Which is what I need help with; picking out a nice system (sub/enclosure and head unit maybe an anp too if it'd really be worth it).
Anyway, I'll be talking to some of you soon I'm sure. So far the board seems pretty cool. Seems to be some good info and knowledgable people from what I've seen anyway....
So, Hi to everyone again,
