Hi all..Yes , I did a search //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/graduate.gif.d982460be9f153bb54e5d4cb744f6ae8.gif but couldn't find an answer..I have this powered speaker box in the back of an 01 Nissan Frontier i just got. Remember, I am your dads age and not into hardcore audio:laugh:...It has a speaker in it that is blown..It has a 4.5 " speaker that is 2.1 ohm and 65 watts..I don't listen to music loud anymore do to health problems ie.headaches so I just want to replace the speaker to not hear the crackling..I have two good speakers that are 4.5" and are 100w but they are 4 ohm. Can a resistor be used across the terminals or would the 4 ohm speaker work..Thanks for all the knowledge and help..God Bless You..K

Ya you could just take out the blown 4.5" and replace it with one of those 4.5" 4ohm speakers. The amp will see a higher ohm load and probably wont produce as many watts at that ohm though. Keep in mind it will not hurt the speaker. But you may lack the ever slightest amount of output.

Wow thanks for all the qiuck info..It just holds one 4.5" speaker..So if I just mount the 4 ohm in there it will not hurt the amp, correct. What is the smallest resitor radio shack sells or can be purchased..You solder the resistor between the +- on the speaker , correct. I have been away from electronics since early 70's..We studied vacuum tube theory..God Bless You..K

ya setting the amp up for a 4ohm load wont hurt it one bit. May actually be easier on the amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
