hey republicans

You want to know why WW2 helped end the depression.......well it didn't do it by itself......Let me explain when FDR took office Hoover had raised Government spending by 50% and then when your boy FDR took office he increased spending to 83% and you know what that got us 14% unemployment in 1937 and then by 1939 it was 19%....So as you can see when the Government spends money in a Keynesian fashion all it does is creates unemployment......The reason that WW2 helped with the recession is because by the time the war came around FDR had rescinded MOST of the NEW DEAL's regulations and he realized that he needed our industry and he stopped demonizing them....A lot of the money spent on the war was spent privately....The government had little to do with our recovery at all......As a matter of fact when FDR realized after the war that he was about to have 10 million soldiers coming home looking for work he tried to pass a bill called the "Bill Of Economic Rights"......Our then Congress repudiated the bill and instead CUT taxes, removed the price controls that were in place and rescinded a bunch of regulations........In other words the GOV got off of the backs of the businesses and corporations in this country and we bounced back.......As much as you would love for it to work the Government interjecting itself into our economy hurts it......it has NEVER helped it......If Congress back then had allowed FDR to do it his way the temporary bump our economy got would have been QUICKLY rescinded........All of this information is NOT made up and is easily found in our history books but you won't look it up......Now that I have brought you some facts you will just spout off some more LIBERAL or Prog bullshit whichever one you consider yourself.......You Liberals are so damned smart yet you bring NO knowledge of what the hell you are talking about to the table......

Oh and Deficit spending has NEVER once successful stimulated a recovery of anything so you guys just keep on doubling down because your on a roll now.....

If businesses ran their finances in this BORROW and SPEND sorta style they would wind up in Bankruptcy pretty quick but the difference is that Government can RUN in the RED because Government doesn't need to turn a profit......It can just turn to the American people when it needs a few more dollars......You guys are an absolute joke!!!

So let's review.........FDR raised spending by 83% and unemployment went to 14% and then 2 years later 19% ........Poor old George Bush wasn't around back then so who is at fault that all of FDR's spending didn't put Americans back to work?......I am listening......

And it looks a lot like if the Government gets off of the backs of the American people and businesses things start to turn around as in after 1945 when TAXES and REGULATIONS were cut.........Imagine that......

Don't confuse what I am saying either with defense of the Republicans because I am NOT giving the Republicans a pass....They are JUST as liable as the rest of those guys.........

Thank you me either just tired of people praising obama . I never said i liked romney either both of them were my ladt picks for the job

Personally I do not feel there should be any names on the ballots. Instead there should by about 11 question regarding policy, you answer yes or no to all 11 questions and the candidate who's policy you voted for most would get your vote.
A good idea, but it will never happen as that would require our politicians to keep their promises.

The Issue is we have Lifers in Senate and Congress, they do what Big companies tell them to do. Both Sides republicans and democrates. If we limited terms to 2 4 year terms, they pay their own health care, have to get into their own retirement program like the rest of us, it would change real quick. Then on top of that you start making it Law that any one in any government job gets caught taking bribes, breaking the law and so forth, 1. 10 Years Hard Labor in a Max. Prison, 2. All money earned up until that conviction has to be paid back 100%, 3. They are never able to be in any gov. or public office for the rest of their lifes. 4. If you run for office and state that you are going to do this and that, if it is not done within 2 years they are removed from that seat and the other canidate is put in.

All states control their own Welfare, Social Service Programs. Federal Gov. is only there for Country protection and World Politics, and so forth.

Federal Government can not over step any states laws, unless it puts the federal gov. or the country at risk.

Couldn't agree more. The founding fathers specifically intended our politicians to be 'from the people, of the people'. They wanted bankers and lawyers and farmers and normal citizens to serve their term, then go back to 'normal' life. Now what we have is career politicians, if they get voted out of office, their career is over. That has created politicians that look out for their own ass first, and what's best for the country second.

And voters to be educated. There is the main source of the problem.
yeah everytime you see people holding signs suppporting whoever alot of them are kids in college living of thier parents dime and have never had to pay for shiz by themselves. i like the olden days of when you had to own land to be able to vote . that way you know your voting for something that will effect you

I think college kids have a lot more at stake right now than any of use, it's there future. Right now I wouldn't really be surprised if there isn't even a USA in 10-15 years.

I don't really have a problem with elected officials not "keeping their promises", I have a problem with them being bullheaded and not getting anything done. If you tell me your not going to raise taxes, but you then in compromise to get another important thing fixed you raise them a little, I understand, it's called compromise.

Right now people are electing really hard line right or left candidates on both side, and neither will budge on anything. I think I saw something on the news that in the last 2 years nothing has been voted through except for some thing declaring some month some official recognition or something. Not real sure on that can't remember what it was. So a lot has to do with the American people and how they are voting. I actually was looking for a moderate candidate to vote for but my selection was crap!

In Nebraska the legislators cannot give themselves a raise, it has to be voted on in an election. They wanted to raise it from $12,000 to $24,000, it was turned down by a fairly large margin. But people complain that it is all retired rich people in the unicameral, duh of course no normal person can afford to quit their job to be a legislator.

The people with the money elect our officials. Our officials are working to please the people funding their campaigns. It's a slippery slope that will end with the well-off folks running the country as an extremely small percentage, while the majority (middle/lower class) hit rock bottom.

That's where people really need to get more educated and do some research. Find out who is actually funding those ads on tv, in the primary there are usually several lesser known candidates that are not career politicians and actually do want to make a difference.

People also need to start voting every day using their wallets. There are lots of things that the average Joe can do to effect this country on a daily basis.

Unfortunately the folks who aren't career politicians run as green or independents. The dominant two-party system doesn't do us any favors. There doesn't seem to be an alternative however. I will admit, I am a democrat. However, I realize both the liberals and the conservatives lie without any worry of consequence. When it comes down to it, I chose the lesser of two evils. Not everybody is going to see it the same way as I do.

keep in mind tho most of those college kids are not informed .They have lived off thier parents dime all thier life and no nothing about how to budget their own money let alone decide their own ecconomical fate. having one of those college kids vote for obama is like a 3 year old tell you whats in thier best interest in life . it doesnt make sence
