hey republicans

Nobama won't be able to do anything anyway short of him pulling executive orders with the Republicans having the majority of the House anyway. If you guys knew how the system worked instead of just voting for handouts you would know this. There's still plenty of Republicans in power to throw a wrench in Nobama's gears.
Right....so when you were saying Obama doesn't do anything....you really meant your party won't let him do anything, whether good or bad.

Hmmm.....interesting.

Yepper. The House has vowed to not pass a budget that raises taxes on the wealthy and Obama has promised to veto any budget that doesn't raise the taxes on the wealthy regarding the fiscal cliff that we are facing January 1, 2013. Obviously they can and will do this on other items as well but this is the most pressing at the moment. Every American will take a 2% pay cut because of it if no mutual agreement can be reached.

And what does Congress consist of? The House which is controlled by Republicans, and the Senate which is controlled by the Democrats. How well do you think those two groups do at compromising?
That is beside my point. The president always gets the blame (or praise) for fiscal policies, spending, the economy, etc. The truth is, Congress writes the checks, makes the laws, and has a lot more to do with fiscal policy than does the president. The president has become a very effective distraction to the American population. Add to the the trend towards polization of the population by extremist-talking politicians, and you get a popular consensus that is very misinformed.

So when the budget isn't passed again in January I'll have to wait to get paid being military just like last time. Yeah I got paid a few days later, but I don't think the bills that I owe and my morgage is going to wait for payment.....

I wrote in Ron Paul btw.

Stop sending jobs to other countries and start Industrializing. So many other countries have balanced systems which help everyone. This "every man for himself" is the way cavemen lived. Go to Germany or any other country for that matter and college is free simply because they know the value of an education. To educate and better oneself should not cost you. The more educated people in your country the stronger your country will be. The U.S.A. has a higher number of drop outs than at least 10 third world countries. Take a look at the suburbs around our major cities. What looks more like a third world country?

The U.S.A. is NOT a "Super Power"

We have high dropouts because students are too lazy to do the work to earn the degrees. I did the work, and earned two degrees while I watched people drop out left and right because it was "too hard" or it cut into their social time too much. Now I'm on course to make $80,000 this year and I have to sit and listen to people bitch about how they want a cut of what I earned because they can't quite make ends meet. Please.... I learned in preschool I'm not supposed to take from other people what isn't mine. Somewhere along the line some people forgot that.

You are one of the few exceptions. In this case it was not directed towards Democrats or Republicans. It is simply stating how most of everyone else is doing better than the almighty U.S.A. Balance is inevitable and this country is not balanced. Some will get slapped harder than others when things get balanced out. What side of the hand will you be on?

Why do you say balance is inevitable? You're saying that at some point in my life, everything that I have worked hard for will be redistributed to those have nothing? I'm sorry but over my dead body. I will leave this country long before anything of that magnitude could occur or die trying.

wahhh I'm gonna cry about everything because my side lost too

oh wait, we won so its all good
You won 4 years of gridlock. Congratulations. Honestly I don't mind having a civil, intelligent conversation and I don't hate anyone for having a different political view as long as you are sensible and have some reasoning and understanding behind it. It's when I see posts like this that I assume you are like these people:

The balance that is coming, and our country is experiencing (among other things) is the value of currency. The reason Chinese people can work for pennies a day is because that's a living wage there. We cant compete against that with just a college degree.

I agree, the inequality in trade between our countries and the growing level of debt is not good. Guess what the Asian markets did right after election night? They went up while our own tanked. That should tell you something right there.

I say balance is inevitable b/c well....it is. It is all around us. It helped form the galaxy as we know it. It's what keeps our earth in orbit. As human beings it is our nature to throw things out of balance. We like to feel like we are in control when we really aren't. Like a rubber band, we will pull and stretch what we can out of balance until it either springs back. Might take years might take months. I'm saying money should be the least of your worries. Takes a lot more than a fat paycheck to make me happy and I would never put my life on the line for a green piece of paper. It is worth more than that.
