hey dudes is fosgate sq

yeah cool that is what i thought....see i am kinda new at this so i am not sure it i even know the difff......but i dont want spl just clean bass.........and with the fosgates i didnt hear it...thanks

Lol, yea, that's what everyone says when they start out w/ subs. "i just want depth." Then you want more, and more, and more, and more bass (SPL).

that's why i've had 3 diff. amps and 2 diff. head units. It's an addiction, and an expensive one @ that.

Your right, people without systems always say "I don't care about how loud it is, I just want something that sounds good." We aren't nutso's here, we've been thru the same thing, we just mostly end up in the same place. Just like years down the line most of us end up getting SQ subs with like 100wrms or less going thru them. Old age and heariing loss will do that to you, lol.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

yeah well put wesley. i used to run nothing but fosgate in my car excluding my pioneer 4x6"s and pioneer h/u, other than that RF amps, subs, speaker wire, caps, fuses, i mean everything. i realized that they make subs totally for SPL and i wanted to see if i could take a pair of overdrive 12"s designed for SPL and make them sound good b/c all RF subs i had sucked in SQ except my HE2's. but yeah you can get a pair of RF subs to have decent SQ i would call them like a 65/35 split if you put effort into it.

Amen.

I just ripped all of my a/d/s/ stuff out of the car and replaced it with Diamond Audio for mids and highs and Eclipse 88120s for subs -- plus I just added another amp (Xtant x1001) to power the subs.

I had all a/d/s/ before. The SQ was awesome, but the SPL just wasn't there. And, like many others here, I remember once saying that I don't care much about SPL, I just want to make sure that I have good SQ!

Six months later and everything is getting ripped out (I get the car back tomorrow).

Since we've all been there before, we can hopefully save you some time and money now. Go for good SPL+some good SQ now. If not, we'll see you here in about six months, when you are asking which setup will give you the best SPL.

Take care.

Hey now, go easy on Fosgate. There have been many wins by team Fosgate in the SQ arena's. It's all in the install.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i definately agree with Ramos, I have a freind that owns a shop in Ocala that runs 16 12" Fosgates for SPL, he also has 2 10" subs that he runs for SQ. He just hits the kill switch on the 4 Audio Arts pushing the 12's. . . then turns on the 10's for SQ applications. . . it dont sound half bad.

more spl than sq in rockford fosgate, go jl audio if you want a better mixture!!!!!
But why pay the money for JL when theres MMATS Pro & Procast Series out there for a fraction of the price //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif
