Hey Christians

Ever since I was able to make my own educated decisions, I was faaaar from a believer. Countless arguments with Christians about how I believed in evolution, the reason blacks were black because they evolved to handle the heat in africa, whites are white cause there from england, mexicans cause its kinda hot lol...it all made sense to me. Religion was just a false sense of hope too me, and I strongly believed this.
Untill recently my beliefs have changed, and I can truly say it's for the better. What's the point in living this life believing that it's all for the moment, and when you die, which can be whenever, it's all just over...

Having Jesus in my heart has brightened up my life in many ways, and I can tell you this, how could it make it worse? And now I have a constructive guide for my daughter to grow up with.
So you are saying you don't believe you could raise your daughter right without the guide of religion?

Boy. Someone has security issues. Trolling and attacking those with differing beliefs is a sure sign. If people wish to discuss an issue intelligently and in good will, they obviously do not go about it in this manner. 17 pages counts as a successful troll however. lol

LOL, you're so full of shit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
No you're buddy.

Im sorry you're butt hurt that zombie jebus didnt come back and reveal himself to you on your day of holy celibration of a dead guy that probably didnt exist, written in a book that is as close to reality as Jules Verns 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

I'm sorry you feel threatened by the fact that others believe in something contrary to your beliefs that you feel the need to attack them personally.

They are equally probable, but not as probable as the existence of no god based on what we know so far. When things are equi-probable (or less probable), I don't think any rational person should then choose one to be true and the other to not be. It's not the religion that causes conflict, per se, but how people think about it (and other things) that is most concerning.
I think the assumption here is that a person has to or should put their money down on the table. Or perhaps that there are benefits (a pay out) to guessing right, and none to atheism. I don't think either of those are true.

If it the religious aspect did not expand beyond the home, it would be a considerably less dangerous gamble which would not be quite so bothersome for me.
How can there not be a payoff to guessing correctly? I guess the answer to that depends on the speculation of man...of what he "thinks god thinks"...which is a rather fruitless excercise.

How is the gamble dangerous? I suppose if you consider people pushing religious conformity onto others. I don't think those are the "afterlife speculators" that I claim to be...their belief is strong though still (probably) irrational.

Once again, an example of how we invent and accept religion when we're uncomfortable with the realities of life.
I figure religion is about as a good "mood enhancer" as anything else. If it makes him feel good, why not? Although I don't think you aimed this comment on the rather marginal believer like myself.

So you are saying you don't believe you could raise your daughter right without the guide of religion?
It's a good a guide as any. I don't think kids come with an instruction manual. If the parent lacks a moral compass, then I see religion as a possible substitute.

In my experience, if a person lacks a moral compass, going to church wont change that.
I am not so sure...I have seen several people convert just because religion offers a sense of stability and purpose that is not met elsewhere. Furthermore, it was about his child, not him.

And to the OP, the years and years I've debated with you and read your threads/posts, im dissapointed to hear this.

Who cares what someone may believe? If it doesn't affect you negatively, why voice out like this?

Are you truly that NARROW MINDED? be open minded, it helps alot.

Somtimes it's like putting a shiny new cover on an old book, its the same old book inside. Seen it happen many times.

For the people that are truly changed to good via religion, good for them. It falls inline with the alcoholics at AA meetings...whatever keeps you straight is good.
