Today I have a choice to get a unlocked Nokia n95 or a locked ( not sure 4g or 8g) I-Phone. Anyone here have experience with owning either of these and which you think would be the better deal.

Really won't be using all the bells and whitles that much on either phone but just getting one to get one basically.

I am leaning more towards the n95 as of now. but would like to here what some owners of the phone have to say about them. Thanks.

For cell phones I would never get or reccomend anything that doesn't have a non-proprietary OS. I have a cheap little HTC Wizard that I flashed with a build of WM6 and I can do so much ****ing shit with that little phone.

I.e. connect to someones wifi, go to logmein.com from it and control my home pc as if I was sitting there....from my ****ing cell phone......plus I have 500 NES games on it.

If you like to tinker with your gear at all go with a non proprietary smartphone. n95 is likely to have way more available since Apple locks their shit down hardcore. Google the phone, check out forums for it.

But if you have no interest in anything but flash, get the iphone.

Thanks for the input. I went with the n95 and wow! way too much phone for me. I ended up trading it for a brand new in the box T-Mobile Shadow (Copper) since I have T-mobile & the my favs. Plus I got $100.00.

The Shadow is more down to my level ( beginner smartphone.) But that n95, that is one basass phone.

WM6 for the win //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

I have a verizon xv6800 right now and I can watch dvds on it no problem and plus the games, wifi, and real qwerty keypad = FTW.

I got the Dash after hearing all the complaints and even the sales reps doggin the Shadows Battery life. I was originally going to get the Shadow, glad I didnt. Dash has Windows, qwerty, WiFi, basically a computer

The battery life could be better I admit that. But thay are coming out with a software update anyday now to help extend the battery life. It doesn't really effect my much since I mostly just use mine for texting and the phone.

The Shadow really isn't that bad of a phone , it had Windows mobile 6, WI-FI and all the other features as the Dash , Wing etc. etc.. It is a HTC phone. To me I think the Shadow looks better. I guess to each his own.
