Hertz Mille MLK165 mids?

Good day!

I recently bought the Hertz Mille MLK165 (loving it!) and my installer bought the HSK165. Yesterday in our local car audio forum, we saw someone selling his new MLK165 - just tweeters & xovers for a great price. Apparently, he's going active and only plans to use the MLK's woofers.

Both my installer & I plan to buy it - but we would like to ask:

1. Does Hertz sell just MLK165 woofers?

2. If not, what would be a good replacement for it?

Kindly correct me if I'm wrong here - its harder to match a tweeter to a different brand of passive xover, correct? Same goes for a woofer, or could we add any other brand just as long as it could play within the cut off points of the xover?

you can buy individual drivers. yes, even just the passive crossovers

pm/call ray or ryan from audio innovations. i know the Mille line isnt cheap. for a whole set its around 2-3k. Just the crossovers alone are around ~900. the ribbons are like ~$700. the Highenergy line 3way is ~$500. Highenergy2-ways are ~$350.

those prices arent set to stone, but those are the prices i received from ray at the time(awhile back)

I just heard from our local Hertz dealer/distributor that he could only order a minimum of 4 sets - so that'll be 8pcs of mid woofers.......so since we only need 2 mids, I guess we're out of luck.

Going the route of using a different brand for the mids, is our only choice now - can anybody suggest a brand with great punchy mids?

Rainbow Profi or Vanadium Kick. I don't know if you can get them from Manila. Plenty of threads about them here.
