I can get a pretty good deal on either of the above speakers, but really looking for a smooth sounding tweeter that isn't harsh or ear bleeding. Budget is about 250 bucks max, and open to other suggestions as well.

Mainly listen to alternative, heavy metal, and some techno and rap!!!

It's a little more money, but I've read the Alpine Type-X PRO set has a very smooth tweeter. Must be able to mount it on-axis, though. Morel tweeters are also known for being mellow.

I have Hertz HSk 165's in my front door of my 2004 f150 and I love them. I do not think the tweeter is harsh in them at all. That was a major concern for me. Midbass could be a bit better but it is not all that bad. My vote is Hertz just because i have not heard the others.

focals K2 series nice tweeters in those sets.

the alpine x series SPX-17PRO has a good tweeter but very good crossover so you can get it just right regardless of volume used //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
