I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata SE 2.0T, it has the base line system without sub. It was lacking bass so I decided to upgrade the system. I had an aftermarket headunit in the car but it was stolen and went back to stock. I got me some new speakers and power pack amp. I settled with Alpine KTP-445U and wired it into the factory wires. Before installing the Hertz ECX 165.5 for the rear and Hertz DSK 165.3 for the front, I tested out the amp with stock speaker. OMG what an improvement the stock speakers hit hard and good bass. Well birth of my son and work has kept me from installing. Well got some time to install and I hooked up the ECX to the rear and they sound bad compared to the stock speakers. Now I know the difference between the stock "Woofer" vs the Hertz "Midbass/Midrange" . There is no bass respons, gain is at half on the amp and I can turn bass all the way up on headunit and still barely anything. My question is do you all think the 45W RMS from the amp is too under powering or think something else could be causing issues?
