Here's one you'll probably never hear again!

yup...two years later and i'm still legally blind in my right eye.

if it makes any of you guys sleep any better, i hardly notice it anymore. the strange thing about single eye injuries is that the healthy eye will normally become stronger to compensate for the loss of vision in the other one. unless i close my left eye, i don't even think about it. the peripheral vision in my right eye is still in tact, so it doesn't affect my depth perception or ability to drive.

since this incident, i've gone on to start a successful web-based company that delivers a product who's entire reputation is based on my ability to cut straight lines in wood....so i'm not fishing for sympathy here. if anything, i'm a bit older and wiser now. And for that I'm very thankful.

HERE ARE SOME VERY IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER:

1. There is no amount of joy you can derive from your audio system now that is worth losing one of your senses in the long run. Loss of hearing, be it partial or total is no laughing matter. I know a local guy who wears a hearing aid at age 32 because he refused to wear earplugs during SPL runs and testing. Constant exposure to loud noise WILL damage your hearing. If you've ever heard that nasty ringing noise in your ears after listening to your system for an extended time, chances are you've already damaged your hearing a litte AND YOU WON'T GET IT BACK. EVER. Hearing loss is a gradual thing. You might not notice it now, but with more and more exposure, it will continue get worse until you're investing in Bell Tones.

2. You aren't a "badass" because you disreguard safety precautions. You're a "dumbass".

3. Anything over 120dB is harmful to your hearing even in small doses. Save the hard hits for the lanes. If you don't go around bumping your system at full hilt all the time, not only will you save your hearing, your equipment will last longer and you'll have a lot fewer headaches.

4. Hearing isn't the only thing that loud noises can damage. Take me for example. Although this is a one-in-a-million incident, don't think it can't happen to you. Loud noises are also very distracting to you and other drivers around you. It's your responsibility to make up for what you can't hear by being twice as observant of what you see. Don't take this responsibility for granted!

what kind of sinus probelms do you have, i dont want to get vision loss
really bad allergy-related headcold. i usually get them twice a year: once in the spring and once in the fall. it's one of those headcolds where your eyes feel like they're bulging out of your head and it even makes my ears "pop" all the time.
