Every time I try to find the dimensions of this enclosure, I get a different number. This is the enclosure I have in my car. The first drawing is the box and the second is the spare tire well; which is part on the enclosure. All number on the drawing are internal, and yes I am using 3/4". The smaller box on the left side of the larger box is for the amps and must be subtracted. Let me show you the most recent numbers I got and how I got it and see if anybody agrees, disagrees, or what ever:

Bottom:

4 x 28.5 x 33.5 / 1728 = 2.21

top:

8.75 x 28.5 x 33.5 / 2 / 1728 = 2.42

amp:

4 x 33.5 x 11.25 / 1728 = .87

Tire well-1/2 circle:

[(3.14 x 13^) / 2] x 7 / 1728 = 1.07

Tire well-square:

26 x 17 x 7 / 1728 = 1.79

total box:

2.21 + 2.42 - .87 = 3.76

total tire well:

1.07 + 1.79 = 2.86

Grand total:

3.76 + 2.86 = 6.62

I get the same thing man

main enclosure - 4.63cuft

Amp rack - .87

Total minus amp rack 3.76 cuft

Tire well - 1.07 + 1.79 = 2.86 cuft

For a grand total of 7.49

When you subtract the amp rack

7.49 - .87 = 6.62 cuft

It's the box I've always had, just never drew it out. I knew it was going to be about 6' though.

Ya know, if the whole box is gonna be fiberglassed, I don't know why so many think of peanuts, etc, to get accurate info. Fiberglass would be waterproof (some outdoor sinks are fiberglass) so I say fill it up with water, measure how much it can hold in there, you'll get a more accurate reading than packing peanuts... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Water is not an option here. I would not be able to get it out. (The enclosure is built into the car, hence the spare tire well.) I never really thought of filling it up with anything...I don't have enough "anything" to fill it with.

If you have the ability to get a hold of a shop vac then what you could do is just pump it out that way, then take a towel to wipe up the majority left, and then use a hair dryer to finish it off. Just a thought, it would allow you to do fill the enclosure in the car, plus you could measure it after you vac the water out. Might not be as accurate as taking out the enclosure, but good enough for government work.
