Here's my situation...

I read the newbie thread first, just getting that out there! And I felt like it didn't apply to what I was wanting to know.

Here is what I have:

I have two 12" Kicker CVRs in my Charger. They're built with a custom box, to fit the specs that kicker has for it's CVRs.

I am interested in getting newer subs for sound quality purposes. I know that "generic boxes" are sold for subs. But this isn't a generic box, it was built for the CVRs to fit into my car perfectly. Will it be a problem if I just chose any kind of sub my heart desires? Or am I basically in a hole having a box that was built for CVRs?

Suggestions would be great. Thanks. Even if theres a brand that I should stick too, or would it even make a big different in sound quality upgrading from CVRs?

see what your airspace is in your custom box...then check the specs on the speakers your wanting to buy to see if they will work properly in your box...

Well, could you tell us what the specs of your box are? Some people may have suggestions for subs that would perform well in the same box.

Power Handling = 300W RMS

According to Kicker CVR specs.

I like 80% sure it's sealed, 3/4" MDF I believe.

how r u not sure if its sealed or ported??...not tryna be rude but its kinda common knowledge for your box
