Here's a brain teaser - More broken stuff :(

Seems every 2 weeks or so, something goes wrong with my install.

I received my ZX650.4 back from warranty work 2 weeks ago (which btw was fantastic, Kicker was very, very fast getting the amp fixed and sent back). Anyway, I installed it and everything has been working great for 2 weeks now.

Today, there was this nasty popping sound coming out of my front stage (fuzzy static sound with pops here and there). It was there even if my Alpine 9855 was turned all the way down. I'd shut the system off, and it would disappear. I'm running active, so tweets off amp 1 on the 650, mids off amp 2. I pulled the RCA's from the mids, and still had the noise in the tweets, and vice versa.

I checked all my voltages - everything looks good.

Here's the funny part; the pop/static only happens randomly, but it seems to happen whenever I hit a bum/pothole, and depending on how big it is, the sound is more abrupt and loud. Does this sound like the amp needs to go back out? Problem with the 9855? Both sets of RCA cables went bad the same day?

What do you guys think?

Had a couple minutes to play with it today.

I took the RCA from my sub out and hooked it up to the front pre-out, then to the amp input for the tweets. Still the same thing. So RCA's it is not //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Has to be bad speaker wires or ground. 2 sets of rca went bad on me in the last 2 months. Made the same sound as you described. Both of mine went bad at the hu, they werent squished or stressed in there so I dont know what happened. I wont buy monster cable rca anymore though.

Could be speaker wire is touching the metal on the door frame, has happened to me.

I'll take a look at the speaker wiring tommorrow. I find it odd that all 4 sets of speaker wire (tweets and mids) have all start touching the door though :/
