here we go...

Caffeine's a drug. Nicotine's a drug. Alcohol's a drug. Ibuprofen's a drug. Acetaminophen's a drug. They're readily available on store shelves. Your point is moot. Your lol's are really stupid, just so you know. What's that about logic holding water?
So you're contending that the effect of marijuana will make it an OVER THE COUNTER drug? That was the logic I'm referring to not holding water. It's going to go from something totally outlawed to just... over the counter? That's sort of like you expecting people giving up wanting flat screens and nice cars to just "help each other". My lols are well deserved by your posts.

The majority of marijuana users don't use those other drugs. Criminals, and criminal activity are centered around having power and making money. You make more money and have more power if you control the flow of more expensive, more addictive drugs. There's no fact to prove. Facts are facts.
That was irrelevant. I said that most people that do harder drugs also do marijuana. That's a statistic that is readily available anywhere. THat's why they call it a "gateway drug". Facts ARE facts... unfortunately they do not agree with you.

You called me poor and stupid. I'm nineteen, and I'm more intelligent than you.
obviously not.

Oh, and I'm going to college. My scholarships are paying for my housing and my unlimited meals.
I knew it wasn't you paying for it.... yet I'm stupid.

You're right about them being naturally occurring, but opium and heroin have to be made from a process and can kill people, along with arsenic. I should have called the plant harmless. Then you couldn't have taken advantage of my misstep.
Your entire argument is a misstep.

To answer your question, yes. Marijuana is a recreational drug, just like tobacco and alcohol. There's no reason to need a prescription for it. It's like expecting people to be able to buy alcohol and tobacco and marijuana in the same place. Salvia(this isn't necessarily the best drug to compare marijuana to, as it's become exceedingly illegal) is another recreational drug. You don't need prescriptions for a recreational drug. Like I said earlier in the topic, I don't think the whole medical marijuana movement is the right way to go. I'm not a sheep following the herd.

I never said people don't need to have luxuries in our other argument. There's a middle ground that needs to be met between capitalism and socialism. I never said we "just" need to do anything. I'm saying there are millions of people born into poverty. I'm not talking about you. I'm not talking about me. Like I said, I'm talking about the people who can't afford to eat more than a meal a day. Those are the people in need of help. Refusing to help them because you care more about having a nice car is selfish. That's the other argument. You don't have to bring it up here.

That was irrelevant. I said that most people that do harder drugs also do marijuana. That's a statistic that is readily available anywhere. THat's why they call it a "gateway drug". Facts ARE facts... unfortunately they do not agree with you.
People aren't always telling you the truth. Like I said, the MAJORITY of marijuana users don't move on to cocaine and heroin. That makes it not a "gateway drug." If anything's a gateway drug, it's alcohol. More alcohol users move onto meth, and cocaine, and heroin to get over their alcohol addictions. Those are the facts. You should read articles and stop watching Fox News. You need to realize that while a square is a rectangle, a rectangle is usually not a square. The people doing cocaine and heroin aren't the people who smoked marijuana. They're the people without father figures; they're the mentally incapable. If marijuana is a gateway drug, it's a gateway to a higher understanding of the world.

obviously not.
Yes I am.

I knew it wasn't you paying for it.... yet I'm stupid.
Who pays for college when they get to go for free? You're wrong for assuming I'm some moron on welfare, living in a homeless shelter.

Your entire argument is a misstep.
All you've done in this topic is put me down. You don't have to be so butthurt.

There is no basis for the government to keep marijuana illegal, in my opinion.
More people die from overdosing on pills, which most would be replaceable with marijuana.
Watch out. eCrack's going to tell you that you're an idiot because marijuana smokers are going to take over the country and kill everyone.

People are addicted to tobacco, and its just a plant. But you dont see people getting shot regularly over black market deals of homegrown tobacco. Why?

People are addicted to alcohol, and it can be homemade relatively easily. But you dont see a large market for homemade alcohol, or the consequential violence of black market deals surrounding it. Why?

Some people want us to believe there is some black magic voodoo about this particular mood altering substance that makes it inherently more dangerous than other drugs. Why?
