To answer your question, yes. Marijuana is a recreational drug, just like tobacco and alcohol. There's no reason to need a prescription for it. It's like expecting people to be able to buy alcohol and tobacco and marijuana in the same place. Salvia(this isn't necessarily the best drug to compare marijuana to, as it's become exceedingly illegal) is another recreational drug. You don't need prescriptions for a recreational drug. Like I said earlier in the topic, I don't think the whole medical marijuana movement is the right way to go. I'm not a sheep following the herd. I never said people don't need to have luxuries in our other argument. There's a middle ground that needs to be met between capitalism and socialism. I never said we "just" need to do anything. I'm saying there are millions of people born into poverty. I'm not talking about you. I'm not talking about me. Like I said, I'm talking about the people who can't afford to eat more than a meal a day. Those are the people in need of help. Refusing to help them because you care more about having a nice car is selfish. That's the other argument. You don't have to bring it up here. People aren't always telling you the truth. Like I said, the MAJORITY of marijuana users don't move on to cocaine and heroin. That makes it not a "gateway drug." If anything's a gateway drug, it's alcohol. More alcohol users move onto meth, and cocaine, and heroin to get over their alcohol addictions. Those are the facts. You should read articles and stop watching Fox News. You need to realize that while a square is a rectangle, a rectangle is usually not a square. The people doing cocaine and heroin aren't the people who smoked marijuana. They're the people without father figures; they're the mentally incapable. If marijuana is a gateway drug, it's a gateway to a higher understanding of the world. Yes I am. Who pays for college when they get to go for free? You're wrong for assuming I'm some moron on welfare, living in a homeless shelter. All you've done in this topic is put me down. You don't have to be so butthurt.
