Help with Alpine - IVAD300

I just got a Alpine - IVAD300 installed in my car, my girlfriend likes watchig dvds in the car but ther eis the saftey feature that wont show a display while driving. since my car is a 2004 Chevy Cavalier 5-speed I assume it goes off the e-brake signal? how do I disable this feature? Any help is apreciated thanks.

It is grounded to the ebrake..

Find another ground.. Fuse Box, Cig lighter.. etc.

so there will be a wire that actually runs down to the e-brake? just ground the wire and nothign else? thats it? it seems to easy hahah and thanks for the quick responce

with the alpines you have to engage the actual brake, then cycle the parking brake on, off, then on again...

you can install a toggle switch in line with the safety ground, then flip it three times to simulate this, or PAC sells a module on ebay that will do it. your cheapest/easiest way, is with the toggle switch.

I'll do the toggle switch method. last question, do I just want to put a toggle on the wire and leave everythign alone? just cut the wire and half and put the switch or do I want to wire it so when I flip the switch it grounds the circuit or just flip the switch andit causes and open circuit?

Go on ebay and buy the bypass module. It's not expensive at all.

ive got the same unit..im not sure how its wired in*i didnt install*but i have 2 switches 1 i have to hold in while i flip the other one once..but as Snove said go with the bypass box..you might be able to find one that explains how to hook it all up..i bought one*cant remeber price but it told me how to wire it all in even came with a burnt dvd showing it step by step

theres two or just type alpine bypass like i did and you will see a page of them.
