Okay, my roommate found a piece of 1.5-2 feet piece of 1/0 wire laying around. So we thought it might be a good idea to upgrade the battery negative to chassis ground wire because stock is like 10-12g. We didn't take the stock wire off. Stock battery negative to engine is like 8g. Previous owner put 4g from alt to starter, starter to battery.

So here is the problem, his subs aren't hitting as hard as they were (didn't change any amp settings) and his headlights are dimming a lot more than usual. What do you think it could be?

Car - 1998 Contour SVT

Battery - Optima Yellow Top

Stock Alt.

JVC KD-S100

Two JL 15W3D4

Two Xplod XM2002GT-R Amps:crap: (One amp per woofer)

4g to the amps

4g grounds

I don't fucking know. But I will tell you what I would do. I would take all that shit out and run Ogauge from everywhere. On my car I have Ogauge going to my alternator - Pos battery post, Chassis Ground to my Neg battery post, Ogauge from pos battery post to distro block then off that I have 4 gauge going to my amps. I have a Ogauge going from my neg bat post to a distro block in the trunk and that is grounded to the chassis and I also have 4gauge going to each amp. This way there is no weak link. I did away with the stock battery cables and starter cables. everything is Ogauge.
