hi all the info work perfect if you read the last post i read you will know what i needi help with please and thankyou, and thank you very much for the info you gave me. I just need a lil more help please and thank you. I have a silverado 1500 short cab. i got a 600 by 2 orion cobalt running 1 jbl 10, inch subwoofer in a ported tubed box, it was all purchased brand new and installed proffesionaly, i beleive they bridged it. I have a JVC KD-r300 they told me for the first 3 days i had to keep the setting low to break everything in, I turned everything up, I turned my gain almost all the way up my hi all the way down and my low in the middle. when I turn it up it sounds like two 12s for about 20 minutes or so then it cuts down to almost half way and my amp gets super hot it will burn your finger almost, but i want to know why it gets that hot or is that normal, it dont get hot enough to cut off or for the lite to come on. also why does my subwoofer cut down almost half way? i have after market door speakers and back speakers that are hooked up to my radio deck. and would any buddy know how to set my jvc deck setting up to what they should be at like the bass, treb and mids should be set at if you need any more info feel free to ask me thank you very much. and can sombuddy please help me i really need it i am a rookie, once again thank you very much.

you need to set the gains properly OP. then your amp won't get too hot. that or you are running it below optimal impedence.

bad ground is possibly causing the amp to heat up so much.

it's not a bad ground, he cranks his gain up all the way. just set ur gains, you should be good. if it still tends to overheat, then check your connections.

allready did all that, need speakers set up right thrue the setting my front speakers are not connected to the amp. i need help with my setting on my deck. my amp stays cool know i turned down the gain allready and i a, tired of being called a dumb f***, i am sorry i am new to this, everybuddy needs help at the beging so please stop calling me a dumb f***

sorry everybuddy else thats trying to help me my amp has yet went into protecion mode. but that aint the problem nomore its the front speakers should i hook them up to my amp or not or just play with the setting on the deck i also gor mb quart q sereis that i never hooked up
