help please im stumped

I have 2 Memphis 12(4+4 ohm dvc's), a Kenwood excelon 811d( 500 rms @4 ohms 919 rms@ 1ohm), kenwood excelon 679 deck, 2 1.0 farad caps, 160 amp alternator( upgrade from a 100 amp)2 4 guage power wire with a 100 amp fuse, 4 guage ground grounded to the chasis about 10 in. from the amp. i just bought the yellow top deepcycle batteries to replace my stock. My problem is that If I wire my subs in to a 1 ohm load when bass hits the voltage for the amp drops down to about 11.4 and the bass hits very soft. if i wire in 4 ohm load it hits hard but only getting about 500 watts. I need the 1000 watts for my subs. What can I do?

the 4 guage power wire is wired from the battery then the 100 amp fuse. now to a distrobution block where on positive goes to the caps and the other goes to the amp. ground is a 4 guage from the fram to a distrobution block and then one wire goes to the caps and one to the amp. ""Is this wiring wrong, wired it acording to the digram cam with the cap and distrobution block combo.

I am really stubped never had this problem before. can anyone please help me please?

thanks.

You say it hits HARDER at 4 ohm? I have this problem. My subs are wired 8 ohm apiece to counter it. Basically, at 1 ohm it's trying to draw too much power, and you're starving it. I actually love having my subs at 8 ohm, they sound incredibly better and it's being very nice to my amp.

Big 3, gain and HU settings tweaking, and higher impedance wiring. Pound away. Wattage ratings are irrelevant. My subs get maybe 60-100 watts apiece after gain and volume, and I'm quite happy being able to vibrate the outside rear view mirrors with the windows up.

wait,so u have a distro bock that goes into 1 and splits into 2, correct?

if so from what you said 1 of them are goin to the caps and the other to the amp?

that is not right...!

have the caps on the same continoius line as the amps(1 power wire)...that MIGHT be messen with sumtin....

I would get rid of the caps all together. If you have a 164 amps alt and only 1000 watt pull, you should not be getting a voltage drop unless you alt is not really putting out that much.

Next is you should NOT have a distro block splitting the power wire prior to the CAPS. Like ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ said ONE continues power wire. The way you have it wired you are totally taking the caps out of the system. They are just sitting there ******* power and not getting rid of it.

But I HATE caps and think they are not needed. I would really check your alt again. It almost seems like it is not putting out that much.

Recheck your ground.

this is the correct way to wire it.

Code:
                                                     ++++amp2
alt++++++batt+++++cap++++distro+++amp1
alt-------batt------cap----distro-----amp1
                                                   ------amp2
                                                   ------ground to frame tightly (should be as thick as the main input for the distro block
and the outputs of the distro should NEVER be the same size as the input. if you have a 4awg input, it should be at MOST two 8awg outputs. so if you have one 2awg input, at MOST two 4awg outputs. got it?

but from the sound of it you dont need a capicator or a distro block. it sounds to me likt you have it wired wrong.

if you have the caps, by all means, use them. or sell them and get some thicker wire.

hope that helps.

rofl...

your a good guy monte, so ill tell ya //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
