HELP!!! PLEASE!!!help

Installed the h/u today and spliced all the wires going by the colors in the booklet to the wires in the old wire harness "had the names on them"

and hooked the amp rca's to the "no-fader/low" rca out

everything worked fine at first till we put a rap song for about 10 seconds then it went into protect till we turned off the h/u and when it turned back on, the sub was fine.

went back into protect when a bassy song was played again

checked ground, remote turn on, heat, rca's and unhooked the sub.

-when the sub was unhooked, we played a tone ~50 hz and it went into protect after about 30-45 seconds

So basically its either the wiring, amp or some messed up signal coming from the h/u

what kind on HU? and what went into protect amp or HU

its a Eclipse 3200 Brand New and the amp went into protect(TXI-7508

get a pioneer , the worst problem they have is sometimes you have to ground the RCA's

You should eliminate problems one by one, try switching the amp first, if the amp is not the issue then connect an ipod directly to the amp. If the hu is also not the issue then you know it's the wiring somewhere.

is it rated for an 1 ohm load? (see in your sig) check the ground for the amp and try a different set of RCA's to see. Personally i think its your load on the amp. Just go thru the install process except ground it at a different place or sand it down (if you didnt). Its trail and error man.

Edit: hooking up the iPod as stated above, would make it easier to solve the problem so you can norrow the issue.

i checked the ground and the amp has been runnig Fine for about 2 months on the same load and was working great right before the install and the only wires that have anything to do with the sub are RCAs and Remote Wire Right? so what could it be

pre HU, but i went to set DMM with new HU and when i tryed to play some test tones to set it..it kept going into protect

I don't think it's the load on the amp as he said that it went into protect even with no sub attached. and coledawg do some troubleshooting bro, you will figure it out. Try swapping things like I posted earlier and then let us know what happened.
