i have no idea how i this happen. the gain on the amp( treo ssx 1500.1 wired to 1 ohm) was only 1/4 up. no bass boost. i use the clipped indicator on the amp to make sure the amp wasn't clipping. but both positive leads on the sub are blown. ( at the same location about 1 inch away from the terminals) does anyone have any ideas. i also want to re-solder new tinsel leads. does anyone know where can i buy them. thanks

Solder the tensils back together and glue them to the cone and hope for the best.

You would probably be best off cutting the current lead about 3/4s of an inch from the cone and running new ones from the terminals to where the old ones sit, leave a little slack and when your done you should glue the solder joint to the cone so it doesn't flap around.

You're gonna have to get some more tensil leads, idk where, Fi would have some, or maybe someone on here.

the tinsel is located between 2 spiders. they are sewn to the bottom spider with thread, no wonder the sub catches on fire when it blows. my bottom spider started to burn also. i wanted to re solder new tinsel and but a heat resistant sleeve over it . do you think that will work

they are not woven. the spiders are about 2 inches apart. the lead are place in between. they are sewn every inch to the spider.
