Help me power 4 8" Subs.

I am still in the works of exactly what I am going to do with my Crew Cab Silverado, but I am definately wanting to do 4 -8" subs.

I am thinking I will be in the 125-200watt RMS range. So I will need between 500 and 800 watts. OK no problem thats easy enough.

Now the question is this. Can I wire the speakers up to a MONO amplifier and get them down to 1 ohm (obviously the amp has to be capable)?

I have been looking at the Hifonics Brutus amp. I am trying to stay within a small budget on this stereo so... Any thoughts?

Can I wire up the 4 8s to go to 1ohm? If so which amps do you guys suggest for my power range for under $200? The cheaper the better. I am not going for stellar SQ here.

Rockford P18S4 50-150 RMS $46

Rockford P28S4 50-200 RMS $67

So far those are shallow enough speakers for my box I want to build...

4 RE 8s off of a kicker kx600.1 would be really nice. Hifonics amps are junk IMO.

Unless its the xx series. The colossus (before they made it smaller) was not that bad.

The Kicker amp is a little more than I want to spend. I know I am being cheap. But I am trying to build this stereo and get my GTO back on the road within weeks of one another, so money is tight. And normally I would only spend money on the GTO anyways.

Ok... I think the RE 8" subs are perfect! Called RE and was told they are right at 4" mounting depth! Which should fit easily into the box I am plannin on making while giving me close to the right amount of air space for a sealed enclosure!.

He recommended I get something in the 600 x 1 at 1 ohm range to power the subs. So I am still open to suggestions and need any help you guys can give. I would like to spend less than $200 on the amp and am not opposed to used amps, so if you have something you think would work, let me know!

Will a Directed amp go to 1ohm stable?
