So, yes, I may be "car audio illiterate" as you car audio guys might call it or whatever you call it (I don't know). So, this may seem a stupid question. Anyway, right to it then. I have a '92 Mitsubishi Eclipse (don't laugh). I just bought it for about $1k. What I really paid for was the sound system and the Enkei rims, because it had no transmission and blah blah blah so I put one in it. While it was at the shop the amp and the woofers were stolen, so the mechanics took out the factory 12cd changer and controller to ensure they weren't stolen. I go to pick the car up and they tell me the crap that was stolen, and then they put the changer and controller deck back in. Well, I can get the radio to work sometimes, but if I don't do it just right, the LED will just flash "Cd" over and over again and I'll hear this popping noise. So I pull the deck out and push it back in nice and snug and the radio at least will work. But if I press the "CD" button, it does nothing, press "Play" it does nothing, just keeps on playing the radio. Is there some wiring problem or something, because at least until I get some money in my pocket I want to be able to listen to the factory CD changer. It's all I have *sniff*. Thanks in advance I'm sure SOMEONE here will be able to help me...?

P.S. And before you tell me to get a new sound system can you at least try to help me with my current problem? I already know I need a new sound system and cd player but can't afford it for now.

IF the factory cd player is doing that it is because it is old. and needs to be replaced. There is something wrong with the internals of the cd player.

And I would sue that shop!

yeah but it worked before I took it to the shop...which might explain itself...? but thing about that mechanic is, my family been using them for years, they know us, we're like friends. I think they r responsible, not that they stole the stuff but that they are responsible for it being stolen, but at the same time i am hesitant to go to the mechanic and say "Ok, here's what you owe me, if you don't pay, I'll see you in court." If u see what I mean

Unfortunately it's impossible to diagnose a problem like this over the internet. You really need someone who knows audio gear to take a look. My only recommendation is check the mechanical mounting of the deck and see if anything looks funky. Like 2" screws used to mount it or some lame brackets or something that isn't right. Times like this it's sometimes best to uninstall everything and start from scratch. Sorry dude.

If you fix it you get to cross the Rainbow Bridge to Valhalla. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah. That's exactly it. And sometimes when I turn the car on, the HU LED just flashes "CD" over and over again. And I hear a popping noise. So then I have to literally remove the head unit and put it back in, actually inda shove it in, and turn it on and then the radio will work, but I have never gotten it to play cd's since getting it from the mechanic. Frustrating, it's the only good thing about that car other than the rims. Eclipses started getting good around 95, but my '92 kinda of sucks, not even the factory engine is in it. As a result I had to take it to the mechanic and as a result of that some of my shit got stolen. IF there is any way to help me in ANY way please do.
