Help me out please

Okay.

I have had the setup mentioned in my sig for over 3 weeks now.

I have been noticing an increasing amount of engine/random noise in the signal. Up to the point that whenever I put my foot on the brake the sub will make a noise, not loud but still a noticeable soft pop.

Well I started having problems with my signal ( i thought it was my rca's) it basically amounts to what I can only describe as the signal crapping out. This started last night. It seems to me to be a short. But I am exasperated with this.

I had the rca's for 3 1/2 years now no problems.

But I re-ran a new pair of rca's and eliminated the noise of the engine and the brakes. But, my headunit is still crapping out I noticed. This happens when I set my headunit at half power or above. I am tired. I have trying to fix this for 6 hours to no avail. You guys got any suggestions?

btw the rca's are ran on the other side of the vehicle away from the power wire and remote.

I'm not understanding what you mean by the HU "crapping out" @ 1/2 volume.

What exactly is it doing/failing to do at that volume setting or higher?

well the signal to the sub just kind of freaks out.

it starts playing what just sound like distortion.

it also goes quiet.

could have the gain on the amp too high which is causein the distortion when the volumn up

I honestly am running out of ideas here...

this has never happened to me before.

gain is a lil past half gain...

I know better than to crank it.

i know what distortion typically sounds like this isn't it.

that and at 1/2 volume this shouldn't be occuring...

It's almost as if there are voltage fluctations occurring in my rca's... I need to dmm them..

bump... I am gonna make sure this isn't the amp... I am gonna try it in my buddies truck...

and I have a spare amp at his place that I am gonna seee if it has any problems...
