HELP ME AMP KAPPA 62.5is!!!!!!

Hey.. I need help on which amp I should get for my Infinity kappa 62.5i's. They have a 75w RMS and a 225w Peak. What would be the best choice of amp to run these with? Right now im running them off of an Alpine HU. I want to make sure I dont blow the speakers.... Please help me out if you can.......

find an amp that will give you 100 - 120 watts RMS. So it will be above the rqted rms but below the max ratings.

im no expert as some others on here but to my knowlage from what ive been told and seen you dont want to go over the rms and if you do not by very much

That's what they say. Here's some info. Let's say you bought an amp (let's call it #1). This #1 amp is rated at 200 watts @ 14.4 volts (most amps are rated at this voltage). Your friend buys a differnet amp ( call it #2) rated at 200 watts @12.5 volts. Now amp #1 will have a time producing 200 watts because you cars electrical system usually supplies 13.6 to 13.8 Volts. But on the other hand, amp #2 will produce more that 200 watts because it was rated @ 200 watts at 12.5 V and your giving it 13.6 - 13.8. But on the other hand there are amps out there that are rated at 14.4 V but have a transformer in side that will boost the voltage up to around 18V. Very high $$$. But that 200 watt amp will supply over 1000 watts. In my years of doing this i have found out that if you supply a wattage between the rms and max ratings you will have less chance of distortion at higher volumes and since amplifiers really produce there power at peak musical notes (deep bass) you should be alright. Unless you take a 5 hour trip with the system at full volume listening to bass tracks all the way.

Another tip. Don't try this with any speaker that gives you ratings like 200 watts rms and 1200 watts max. I have come to believe that the rms should be half of the max rating on decent subs.

ok thats what i thought i always look at the 14.4 anyways

guess we'll have to be more clear when we give advice

Really depends on the power supply inside the amp.
