Hello- woofer recommendations!

Hello- I am doing a second build in my Lincoln LS.. I wish to fire them into the cabin again sealing them off.

my trunk dimensions are 30Wx16.5Hx33L

assuming calculations are correct... that is 9.4^ft?

Obviously to obtain that I'd need to build the enclosure within' the trunk- so that is not needed; besides I could then obtain nearly 10.5^ft as I'd custom enclose around wheel wells..

SO- with that being said..

My stock alternator is 110amp; so I was going to try to sqeeze a 2k system in.

I was looking at woofers today and released sure I am not too sure what I am looking at;

what is TOO much woofer for my build.

A few that caught my eye being;

SoundQubed HDC3 12" D1 - $280:1 new

American Bass XFL1244 12" - $180:1 new

American Bass HD12D1 12" - $280:1 new

the few extra hundred isn't huge if it'll be a notable difference.

open to suggestions; however, I am looking for INFORMATION not preferences.

I haven't done a build in two years; so count me as a day one again.

read some good things about HD12s; but- if they wan't 3k and I short em; I fear they'll be sad.

leaning heavy towards SPL- but not single note Burps.

love all the subs you named but staying around 2k.... either go low power subs (obsidians, sa, ab xd, multiples... or a single monster...

i ran a hdc4 12 single on a kx2500.1 on stock 110amp stock alt didnt see too much drop and it got nasty... make sure you got ur big three, watch ur voltage meter... lol

all of ur list are subs that will solo 2k... lol but if ur gonna buy a set and underpower from what you picked go with the xfl...

well I may upgrade alternator sooner than later; I'll install a digital meter running into my cabin to keep watch.

I was wanting to stick to dual 12s as it looks Suave in the skipassage.

I make roughly $1200 a week take home now.. 21 without kids or a mortage.. so- let the boom boom bang begin.

from my understandings... it's a rarity to sqeeze 3k into a stock alternator.

I might have to pull my DMM out and see what's useable..

I am going to place an order for a set of Dual1 HDC3s 12s tonight!

Only 4.5Bills? deal.

to the best of my understations; if I had purchased a 3k amp in hope to obtain a better alternator within' the month... it is still mismannered to power said amplifer with power restrictions.

In accordance to BACE.com - my understandings is that 1000 watts will draw nearly 72AMPS at 14volts -

if this were to be true; a 2,000 watt system would be out of reach on stock as well, but, I swore I've see 2k+ builds on stock Alt before.

as 2,000 watts@14v would consume the entirety of my alternator- ...I assume this is where the battery bank comes into play;

Apologizes for the ramble- just wishing to further my knowledge.

I'll be back to read helpful tips from one and all after I go put $1,000 on my debt card for this build.

With that power I'd do the xfl or even the xr. But if you buying the subs online they may not be new. Possibly refurbished or old stock

My only option- only in state contracts are Kicker and phoenixGold

You'd recommend XFLs over HdC1? On 2kish?

Why is that..? What components lead you to this..?

Xfl if running 2 subs. If one sub the hd or the hdc I have seen the xfl running one 1800 rms and took it no prob if clean tho really depends on what your trying to achieve tho If Spl then the xfl for sure. If daily. The hd or hdc
