howdy everyone! my names jeremy (kweef is only a nickname so dont b offended!) and i own a 2001 monte carlo ss... recently i replaced my stock head unit with a kenwood using the gmos-04 wiring harness to keep my chimes, well after i hooked it all up i had horrible distortion so i tried to use the adjustment on the wiring harness that was supposed to help get rid of the distortion but it didnt work...so i decided to bypass my stock amp...so yesterday i found the wiring diagram and tried to do it and all the speakers work but instead of just having distortion it cuts out at the high volumes...also the radio randomly turns on for a few seconds bout every 10 seconds even when the car if off and the keys are taken out...i am so confused! so howdy everyone lol and thanx for the help

is the HU new, i had the same problem twice the first time the hu was old and was not working properly the second time it was a loose ground. doublecheck the wires.

yah it does and according to the manual they r in the correct place...the fade and balance work correctly to they should be hooked up jsut fine

sometimes those harneses come with two remote wires(blue) make sure that the stereos remote wire and the amps remote wire are connected properly

well more wiring troubles, for some reason the fuse for my blinkers kept blowing...went thru 5 of them so i hooked the amp back up...has anyone ever encountered this?
