Not necessarily new to high performance systems just being a "grown up" about it this time. All my sound systems focused on bass first and the rest were just details. I'm focusing on a well rounded system here and want to know if I'm on the right track. Any and all help is welcomed and appreciated. I'm doing a 2000 Silverado Extended Cab build and it's time for the sound system...Yay!
My powermaster 48327 alternator is installed and my ofc big 3 are both done. Until I add a big power inverter, I'm sticking with a single battery setup. I also have a Rockford r2 500 4 channel and a Rockford r2 1200x1.
I'm going for clarity here. I want to be able to play a classical piece, close my eyes and hear every note and start to feel the low end from the trombone to the percussion. I want to hear scales travel from my tweets to my subs with no interuption(within reason, not spending 3 racks on it but 11 to 1,200 isn't out of the question). I want to get my speakers set up then add a 3rd amp and dsp way down the road, literally the last thing in my build, but I'm about ready to begin speaker selection.
I listen to everything but that industrial death metal stuff. I do mean EVERYTHING. I'll go from Jay-Z to Clapton to Peter Tosh to Gym Class Heroes to Bocelli to Classical guitar in one sitting. Not huge on Country, but you'll catch me listening to that too. Hell, if I get bored I search for hit songs from around the world
If my ears like it, I rock it, no apologies!
My brainstorming and research has me here... dual 8 inch speaker pods for front doors and A pillar pod for tweeters.
Rockford pps4 8 and Stevens audio mb8s in the front doors (heavily sound dampened, 100 percent then doubled in some areas). I'm undecided on tweeters but I've narrowed it down to Rockford t1 or t2 or Stevens Audio tweeters. I've heard different things about aluminum vs silk ect (which is virtually the only difference between t1 and t2) not sure on that and not sure if Rockford or Stevens wins the tweeter battle.
I'm almost dead set on Subthump Maxx 12 inch dual box made specifically for under my trucks rear seat loaded with p3d4 12 inch subs.
I've considered horns as well, but if I go that route my research tells me a dsp is a must from the start.
I'm open to any and all suggestions except my 2 amps. They are brand new and under warranty but well past the return option. Speaker sizes, brands ... any and all. Thanks in advance!! Lemme have it, guys!!
