Hello again everyone! Questions about crossover settings.

I’ve done as much research as I can, but I’m still lost. If anyone can dumb this down for me…I mean basement level dumb down..like so dumbed down we set car audio systems back to cowboys playing guitars on horses…I wish I was kidding.

Is this just a matter of adjusting to preferred settings or are there certain base settings or even “mandatory” settings? The system sounds great. I’m learning about the common adjustments but I’m still missing something. I can’t quite get my bass balanced with my system which is relative because everything sounds good. The rear speakers have bass as well and I want to cut out all the bass except the main bass system. Thank you for reading.

I have…..

BOSS Audio Elite BE9ACP.XC Head unit

Rockford Fosgate R2-500X4 Amp

Pioneer TS-D65C Door speakers

Pioneer TS-X2105-1/4" 3-way surface-mount speakers

Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-10 Single 10" 300-Watt Amplified Subwoofer & Enclosure - Black

When you say "I can't quite get my bass balanced with my system", are you talking volume, gaps or overlap in frequencies, underemphasis or overemphasis at certain frequencies, etc.

What is the year, make, model, and trim of the vehicle that it's installed in?

What are the settings for the channels on the HU currently?
What are the amplifier settings currently?
What speakers are being driven by which amp(s)?

What kind of music and does it happen regardless of the music genre?

There are standard starting points, but you need to know a bit more about what you're working with.

I just saw this….I’ll answer tomorrow with extreme accuracy. Thank you.

Start at 80hz High pass on the main speakers and 80hz low pass on the sub. I usually use a deep male voice to fine tune from there. If you’re getting a lot a voice through the sub, lower the sub crossover. If he doesn’t sound like his voice is deep enough, raise the crossover.
If the main speakers are struggling to play the low frequencies, raise the high pass crossover point.

I've read that the human male voice can dip into the single digits, like below 10 hz. I remember listening to a guy on the radio once whose voice was so low that as his sentence trailed off the sound would shift from my front stage to the subs in the back. It was spooky.
