Hi!

I am from Puerto Rico (an Ohio transplant really). I am presently looking to upgrade the sound system in my 2014 Jeep Patriot and wanted to be registered at a site that I felt would be a good resource of information should the need arise.

Even though I have a fairly basic understanding of sound systems and past working knowledge of 12vdc systems (ex-Navy Electricians Mate), I have this bad habit of never assuming I know it all. So, I soon hope to be following a few of the threads and please rest assured to see some noob questions on my part in the process!

Upgrades to date:

- Swapped out the basic HU on my Jeep. Replaced it with my older UConnect REN HU (circa 2008) which I felt has a bit more power (hence volume) and looks much better while maintaining a "stock" look (for my safety concerns).

- Added a HIMBOX blue tooth adapter since the REN only accepted my cell phone connecting to it - won't stream my music unfortunately. So far I really can't complain. I stream my OPUS and MP3 recorded music through my HTC One 9 cell phone via the GoneMad music app and the Viper4Android audio manager. I have had some fairly good results with this combination so far but need to make sure I am getting the best possible sound by upgrading components now.

- Sound Ordnance P69 6x9's in the front doors (these are 2-ways).

- RF R1694 6x9's in the rear doors (these are 4-ways).

Planning to add on:

- Amplifier: RF R300X4

- LOC: AudioControl LC6i

- Swapping the 4-ways to the front doors and the 2-ways to the rear doors.

Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions or plain constructive criticisms are welcome. My main goal is my personal music listening enjoyment while in my Jeep. I mainly listen to Rock (most variants but mainly classic). I like my music to be clear with good sound stage presence (as I feel I get from listening to Supertramp, for example). Bass is required but not to the extent of overpowering that clear stage presence I am looking for. Don't mind a bit of mirror vibration from any deep bass though as would be expected in, let's say, Roundabout from Yes ;-D.
