This is what it sounds like.... its not moving far enough to bottom out. Whats a coil guide?You do realize you can't bottom out a HeavyWeight right? You will actually hit the spider before you bottom a heavyweight out.
What you hear is the coil hitting the sides. Unless you have a problem with the heavyweight. But a perfect heavyweight will not bottom out and if you hear a popping noise you are sending a clipped signal and your causing the coil to "coil rock" from left to right. You should have gotten the coil guide to help this problem on single spider setups.

its a huge box.... it ended up being about 9.5-10 ft gross and 3.5 net3.5ft^3 and 87in^2 of port?...your port is ~56" long???

LOL................ I was reading some other problems on CACO just like this, and a few educated members over there stated this to be the cause of one kids problems with his HW.... but to no avail....*update* pulled the sub and the noise is gone...... its gotta be the box.
