heat absorbent material for amp

what's a good material to wrap the amp around to aid in drawing away heat?

These summer days, the trunk gets hot and the amp is scorching before it's even played. I feel like the amp is going to fail faster with it already hot like that.

I wouldn't wrap anything around it

let the heat sink do it's job....as long as it's not going into a thermal protect, it's fine

maybe space the amp up off whatever it's mounted on to get some air under it

use a wet towel
that's not a bad idea. Put a small wet towel in a vacuum seal able bag and put it in the amp rack pressed against the amp.

you would add the heat blocking/absorbing material to the underside of the trunk lid
I like this idea better.

edit: sounds good but the typical materials found won't stop convection.

worked fine on the car I did it in. Amp would thermal protect on hot days, did material and cage fan and problem solved...
