i have a slight case of tinitus... it's only noticable when there's no ambiant noises around me...

i agree, the highs in my truck hurt my ears much more than the ~3200w substage i have. ever since i put my second set of rs6.5s my ears ring quite noticably after each ride home from work, but it goes away in a half hour or so... i gotta restrain myself from the volume knob, haha...

working on a construction site doesn't help either... so much loud machinery, drills, hilti guns, grinders, ect....

sometimes when im beating i need to "pop" my ears and then i can hear better.

a hour or 2 after full blast i cant hear as well... but it comes back in time...

My system is only in the 140 dB range (low 140's but soon to be mid to upper 140's) but I play it REALLY loud sometimes for half an hour straight or more. That has had an effect and I believe its affected my hearing partially, but nothing major.

I've probably lost some hearing, but I only had around 50% to begin with. Didn't have eardrums till i was 12.

Is it true though, that only a certain fequency played really loud can delete that fequency from your hearing?

Like if I listened to something at 1khz @ 170dB would that make me no longer able to hear just 1khz?

Yeah to an extent, but I'd guess that if you were unable to hear 1kHz you wouldn't be able to hear any frequency higher than that either.
