Heard you like dubstep breh.

weave through posts to find what your looking for or have it all laid out for you to get to it quickly. and.... techno and dubstep are far from the same //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif every genre is its own and every genere has subgenres spawning from that genre. ^_^.

Skrillex is tubaware, i see what you did there.

Subgenres are still in the same genre bro.
Hard rock, classic rock, and grunge rock are all still ROCK bro.

Dubstep was birthed from the techno of the 80s and the bass tracks of the 90s. This is something that you can't dispute until you've gone back and listened to it, which I'm gathering, you'd have to do since you weren't there to hear it first-hand when it happened.
dubstep origin of birth might be from that but to my knowledge techno didnt come into play til the 90s. 80s was filled with freestyle and reminence of disco, which i grew up listening to because my parents were at dancehalls every weekend. my father of which always had subwoofers in his cars and was a dj lol. also, dub had its orgin based in the raggae jamacian vocals followed by the signature bassline that we see today as dubstep in its many different forms.

This thread is hilarious.
